Create a custom report

There are some pre-configured custom reports available under the "Standard Custom Reports" tab that can be used "as is" or modified.

  1. In Handicap System, activate the Options Menu by placing your pointer inside the area outlined below in orange.

  2. Click on "Reports" link under "Players" section on the Options Menu (pictured above at top)

  3. Select the "Custom Reports" tab

  4. Click on green "plus" icon to create a Custom Report (shown above).

  5. Click inside the Report Name box (see letter "A" below) and type a descriptive name for your new Custom Report.

  6. All Custom Reports start with Column 1 for Player ID# and Column 2 for Player Name. Select where you want to put a new column (see letter "B" and "C" above). When you click the Insert (left or right; "C" above) button, you will see a new window. Select a Category and Item and click on the blue button labeled "Use Item."

  7. If desired, shift existing columns left or right using the ">" and "<" buttons (see letter "D" above in image for Step 5).

  8. Confirm that your Header (see letter "E" above in image for Step 5), Alignment (see letter "F" above in image for Step 5) and Style (see letter "G" above in image for Step 5) are what you want for each column.

  9. You can see a Preview of your report (see letter "I" above in image for Step 5)

  10. If you want the text in a column to wrap, place a check mark in the little box (see letter "J" above in image for Step 5)

  11. Typically you would want 1 player per row in the report. However, if you have very few columns in the report, two players may fit (for printing) on each row (see letter "K" above in image for Step 5).

  12. Click on the blue Save button (see above in image for Step 5) to save your changes. The blue Close button closes the window without saving changes.

If you want to delete a column that is in your report, click the Remove button for that column (see letter "H" above in image for Step 5).

Tip: A description for each Column Header is automatically inserted for each item you place on a report layout.  However, if you do not like the default, you can change this at any time. Simply click on the text in the Column Header and type the text you wish to appear.

Example: The option, Print X player(s) per row, lets you indicate how many players you want to display per row (see bottom of image in Item 5 above). The default is one and usually you will only want to display one player per row. However you may show up to three players per row. An example may be if you want a simple telephone directory with just the player’s name and phone number.  You may wish to display 2 or 3 players per row to save paper, and the width of the report would not be too wide to accommodate this.
